Kirkland & Ellis Diversity Leadership Series - Succeeding at Kirkland

On February 6th, Kirkland Chicago held a Diversity Leadership Series (DLS) event entitled "Succeeding at Kirkland." Litigation Partner and Firm Committee Member Emily Nicklin, Corporate Partner Sandy Perl, Corporate Partner Matthew Steinmetz, and Litigation Partner Leslie Smith, addressed the group and spoke about how they have achieved success at the Firm. The event was attended by 12 partners and 25 associates who, following the moderated panel presentation, broke into smaller groups to discuss how they could apply what they learned to their own careers. The February event was part of the larger monthly Diversity Leadership Series (DLS), at which attorneys discuss diversity-related “hot topics” and professional development. Past session topics have included “How Multiculturalism Plays a Role in Negotiations” and “Gender At Work.” The seminars are widely attended by attorneys at all levels, provide a regular forum for smaller communities of attorneys to gather, and also help foster natural mentoring relationships among diverse partners and associates.
