University of Chicago Law School 61st Annual Federal Tax Conference
The University of Chicago Law School's 61st Annual Federal Tax Conference took place November 7-8, 2008. The topics ranged across the entire field of income tax, from current hot topics (taxation of debt instruments in distressed situations, taxation of "carried interests"), through established areas of law in need of reconsideration (domestic tax rules in international transactions, substantial economic effect), to emerging tax issues (FTCs in a non-income tax world, economic nexus).
Kirkland partner Jeffrey Sheffield was the chairman of the conference and partner Todd Maynes spoke.
