New York University is hosting its 68th annual Institute on Federal Taxation at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco on November 15-20, 2009. The Institute will address all major areas of taxation and will provide high-level updates and in-depth analysis of the latest trends and developments.

Kirkland & Ellis partner David Handler will speak on Friday, November 20 regarding “The Impact of Grantor Trusts on Competing Strategies to Transfer Wealth: Doing the Math and Communicating the Results.” Specifically, this presentation will discuss the impact of the grantor’s payment of the income on some commonly used techniques, determining the portion of the grantor’s estate to accomplish the wealth shift and how to communicate this sophisticated analysis in an understandable manner to the client.
