88th Annual National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges
The National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges will hold its 88th Annual Conference from October 8-12, 2014 at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago, Illinois. The conference has a program of timely topics focusing both on business and consumer related issues and will be an opportunity to network with professionals in the insolvency field. Topics will include, “Minding Your Business: Maintaining Focus in Modern Law Practice” and “Wait, Wait . . . Don’t Tell Me! An Ethics Game Show,” among others.
Several Kirkland partners have been invited to speak at the event. Todd Maynes will address “Retirement Assets in Bankruptcy: Protecting, or Tarnishing, a Debtor’s Assets in the Golden Years,” James Sprayregen will moderate the discussion “Born in The USA: Grown Abroad – How Different Foreign Jurisdictions Restructure Major Corporate Groups,” Ross Kwasteniet will participate in the panel discussion “Whose Case is This Anyway? Should A Chapter 11 Case be Run Solely for the Benefit of the Secured Creditors?” and Stephen Hessler will participate as a panelist on the topic “All The Courtroom’s A Stage: Honing Courtroom Presentation Skills.”
