Illinois We the People Program
On December 5, 2014, Kirkland & Ellis associate Ralph Dado judged the high school state finals competition for the Illinois We the People program at the Dirksen Federal Building.
We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution is a nationally acclaimed government and civics curriculum, sponsored by the Center for Civic Education, that helps students understand the history and principles of the Constitution. Each year, the program culminates in a national competition testing students’ understanding of constitutional principles and ability to take and defend positions on relevant legal issues during simulated hearings. The winning team from the Illinois state finals will now move on to the national finals, held in Washington, DC in April 2015.
