PLI’s Tax Strategies for Corporate Acquisitions, Dispositions, Spin-Offs, Joint Ventures, Financings, Reorganizations & Restructurings 2016
The Practising Law Institute will hold a three-day seminar in New York on October 18–20, 2016, Chicago on November 2–4, 2016, and Los Angeles on December 7–9, 2016. The program will focus on the tax issues presented by the spectrum of modern major corporate transactions. Emphasis will be placed on evolving techniques for structuring, financing, and refinancing corporate turnovers, with particular attention directed toward consolidated return issues, financially troubled businesses, and select current issues in mergers and acquisitions such as the Section 385 and Section 7874 regulations.
Several Kirkland partners have been invited to speak at the event. Donald Rocap will speak on the topic of "Structuring Leveraged Buyouts" in New York. The same topic will be discussed by Jack Levin in Chicago. Dean Shulman will speak on the topic of "Passthrough Corporations & Publicly Traded Partnerships (PTPs)" at the New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles seminars. Additionally, Todd Maynes will speak on the topic of "Tax Strategies for Financially Troubled Businesses and Other Loss Companies" at the Los Angeles seminar.
