26th Annual Fordham IP Conference
The 26th Annual Fordham IP Conference will take place April 5–6, 2018 at the Fordham Law School in New York.
Partner Joshua Simmons is presenting “Watching the Fair Use Pendulum Swing” at 5:25 p.m. on April 6. Joshua’s presentation will highlight the resurgence of a multi-factor approach to fair use, and how courts are addressing fair use at the pleadings stage. For several years, courts have delivered significant fair use victories to copyright defendants at earlier and earlier stages of litigation. This talk will consider whether the pendulum is swinging back, resulting in an increasing number of decisions finding a lack of fair use.
Joshua is also participating as a panelist during the “U.S. Copyright Potpourri” at 2:45 p.m. on April 6.
