PLI's Advanced Copyright Law 2019: Current Issues
Practising Law Institute (PLI) is hosting “Advanced Copyright Law 2019: Current Issues” on March 14, 2019 at the PLI New York Center. Current developments in copyright law will be explored in the context of developed law and proposals, and prospects for future change. Topics will include a discussion on fair use, alternative dispute resolution in copyright matters, a DMCA update, and recent cases and music copyright reform legislation.
Partner Joshua Simmons will be presenting “Computer Copyright Protection.” The presentation will introduce components of computer programs and new software techniques, cover protectable and unprotectable software elements, prove infringement in the software context, and include special first sale considerations for computer programs. Josh’s live presentation starts at 10:15 a.m., and a recording will be hosted on the PLI website later in the year.
