University of Illinois Women's Law "The Drive to Serve"

U.S. Congresswoman Judy Biggert offered her perspective on why she left her  practice to serve her district, which covered the western and southwestern suburbs of Chicago. As a former lawyer (Northwestern, J.D., 1963) and as one of the 73 women currently elected to Congress, she discussed what drives men and women to stuff envelopes, walk in parades, and shake hands at county fairs in order to turn their private careers into public.  Kirkland Careers is a sponsor of this event.
