Matthew Arenson is a corporate partner in the Firm’s Chicago office. His practice primarily involves representing private equity sponsors and private companies in mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and recapitalizations. Matthew also counsels clients on a range of general corporate matters, including governance and executive compensation. Matthew joined Kirkland in 2008 and has been a partner since 2014.

Matthew has worked on transactions in a variety of sectors, including aerospace, specialty chemicals and materials, manufacturing, restaurant and food, professional services, technology, and pharmaceuticals and healthcare. Matthew has handled matters on behalf of, among others, Sun Capital Partners, Madison Dearborn Partners, AE Industrial Partners, SK Capital Partners, Marlin Equity Partners, Water Street Healthcare Partners, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Garnett Station Partners, and Soundcore Capital Partners, as well as many of their portfolio companies.
