Overview

Betsy Astrup is a litigation associate in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Betsy’s practice focuses on all phases of complex commercial litigation in both federal and state courts in a variety of substantive areas, including data privacy and cybersecurity, ERISA, contract disputes, bankruptcy and civil rights litigation. She also advises both private and public companies on internal and governmental investigations and board matters.  Betsy regularly drafts dispositive and other significant motions, as well as appellate briefs, and has extensive experience in taking and defending depositions, preparing witnesses, managing fact and expert discovery, and conducting witness examinations at trial.
