Since joining Kirkland, Vinicius has been involved in the following matters:

• Represented the sponsor in the $3 billion construction, tax equity bridge and back-leverage financing for an approximately 900 MW wind farm located in the United States.
• Represented Apex Clean Energy in the debt and tax equity financing for the 200 MWac Lotus Wind project in Illinois.
• Represented Apex Clean Energy in the sale of a 49% stake of the Pinnacle II portfolio of operating and solar assets to Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO Group).
• Represented Sunnova Energy International Inc. (NYSE: NOVA) and over 275 affiliates in their comprehensive restructuring of approximately $9 billion of corporate debt and securitized obligations.
• Represented Vineyard Wind 1 in the $1.2 billion tax equity financing for its 800 MW offshore project off the coast of Massachusetts.
• Represented Treaty Oak Clean Energy in the debt financing for the Redfield solar project in Arkansas.
• Represented Doral Renewables LLC, a U.S. renewable energy and storage developer, in its sale of up to $500 million of convertible notes to funds managed by Apollo (NYSE: APO) affiliates and Migdal Insurance.

Prior to joining Kirkland, Vinicius’ recent law firm experience includes:

• Represented Clearway Energy Group on the tax equity financing of the 238 MW Elbow Creek repowering projects (IJGlobal’s 2019 North American Wind Deal of the Year).
• Represented Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners in the tax equity financing for the Bearkat I and Blue Cloud energy projects in Texas.
• Represented an international commercial bank as lenders on more than US$450 million of back-leverage debt facilities backed by a portfolio of utility-scale projects.
• Represented the sponsor and seller in commodity hedging arrangements, and the construction, back-leverage and tax equity financing for, and the sale of, a 200 MW solar photovoltaic energy project in Texas.
• Represented the hedge provider in structuring and documenting secured proxy revenue swaps supporting the repowering of three energy projects in Texas totaling 430 MW.
• Represented the sponsor with the development and financing arrangements for the repowering of a 122 MW project and a 161 MW Project in Texas.
• Represented the sponsor on a back-levered multi-draw construction loan and term debt facility, and tax equity partnership to finance two utility-scale solar-plus-storage projects and one standalone battery in New York.
• Represented the sponsor in the sale of a 196 MW project in Texas.
• Represented a developer as tax counsel in structuring the procurement of safe-harbor equipment to be used in the development of a variety of solar projects throughout the United States.
• Represented a developer as tax counsel on the sale of its distributed solar platform to a large multinational renewable energy developer.
• Represented the U.S. affiliate of a Canadian renewables company with the acquisition of a majority interest in two operating facilities located in Meeker County, Minnesota totaling 39.6 MW.
• Represented the sponsor with the development, financing and commodity hedging arrangements for a 162 MW farm in Texas.
• Represented the sponsor in relation to the debt and tax equity financing and hedging arrangements for a 336 MW Project in Texas.
• Represented the sponsor in development and tax equity financing for a portfolio consisting of 15 projects with a collective nameplate capacity of 85 MW located in North Carolina.
• Represented the sponsor in the development, financing and commodity hedging arrangements for a 419 MW project in Texas.
• Represented the sponsor in the development, financing and commodity hedging arrangements for a 326.9 MW solar project in Texas.
• Represented the sponsor in obtaining commodity hedging arrangements for a 345 MW project in Texas.
• Represented Ares Capital Corporation in the construction debt and tax equity financing of the 121 MW Ford Ridge Wind Project in Ford County, Illinois.
