John Berger is a corporate partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice focuses on advising private investment firms on complex strategic minority and preferred equity investments, as well as co-investment and seeding arrangements. He also advises emerging investment managers on pre-fund investment arrangements. He has also advised private equity firms and their portfolio companies on strategic and leveraged acquisitions and divestitures, equity and debt financings, recapitalizations, executive compensation and incentive equity matters, as well as general corporate counseling and compliance.
