Ian Betts is a litigation associate in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Ian has experience litigating a wide range of intellectual property and commercial claims, including practice in a number of federal courts and in front of the United States Patent and Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Ian also has specific experience in the protection and enforcement of brands’ intellectual property rights in e-commerce on a global scale. He has worked with multiple Fortune 500 companies in efforts to help them protect and grow their brand equity. Ian has helped his clients obtain judgments, including attorneys’ fees against gray-market and counterfeit sellers, including on claims for violations of the Lanham Act, trademark infringement, unfair competition, false advertising and tortious interference.
