Overview

Ali’s practice focuses on litigation and trials involving patent infringement, trade secret and unfair competition claims in federal district courts and the International Trade Commission. He also advises clients on offensive and defensive patent strategy.

Ali has been identified in the 2025 Lawdragon 500 Leading Global IP Lawyers. He has significant experience managing and leading teams in complex, high-stakes matters, in all phases of litigation in federal court and ITC litigation and USPTO Inter Partes proceedings. Ali’s practice spans a wide range of technologies, including tele communications, signal processing, computer software, vehicle telematics, robotics, medical devices and orthopedic surgery.

Ali also maintains an active pro bono practice, including serving as Special City Prosecutor for the City of Redondo Beach, where he has successfully first chaired and won misdemeanor jury trials, won pre- and post-trial motions and has successfully argued appeals from trial court judgments.
