Overview

Alec Campbell is a tax partner in the Boston office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Alec represents U.S. and non-U.S. investment fund managers in connection with the formation of funds that invest in the U.S. and/or overseas, including venture capital funds, buyout funds, funds-of-funds, debt funds and other investment partnerships. Alec also regularly advises investment fund managers and institutional investors on the formation of continuation funds, the purchase and sale of interests in investment funds, the tax aspects of other secondaries transactions and liquidity solutions for private fund sponsors.

Alec has worked on numerous fund formation and alternative investment transactions ranging from several million dollars to several billion dollars for clients, including: ABRY Partners, Alpine Investors, Ares Management, Arlington Capital Partners, Bain Capital Credit, Berkshire Partners, Camden Partners, Clearlake Capital Group, CPPIB, GTCR, HarbourVest Partners, Hg Capital, iCapital, Lexington Partners, Mainsail Partners, Nextech Invest, Silver Oak Services Partners, Summit Partners, Thoma Bravo, Trilantic Capital Management, Union Capital, Vance Street, Veritas Capital Fund Management, Vitruvian Partners and Whitehorse Liquidity Partners.
