Overview

Alex Clark is a partner in the Dallas office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Alex’s practice focuses on the employee benefits and executive compensaton aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including strategic and private equity transasctions.

Alex advises clients on all aspects of the establishment, administration and termination of qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, welfare plans and equity and incentive compensation arrangements. He has extensive experience iwth deferred compensation, severance and golden parachute agreements, and Section 409A matters. Alex also counsels clients on the application of ERISA’s fiduciary and prohibited transaction rules, and advises on defined benefit plan, multiemployer pension plan and retiree welfare plan design and liabilities, including matters before the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation.

In addition to his transactional practice, Alex regularly advises public company boards and compensation committees on executive compensation matters.
