Overview

Erika Ivey Clifton is a litigation associate in the Nashville office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Erika represents clients in high-stakes and mass-action disputes, particularly in product liability and healthcare litigation. Erika holds a J.D. from the University of Tennessee Winston College of Law and her B.A. from the University of Tennessee–Knoxville.

Prior to joining Kirkland, Erika successfully defended a former executive of a large health insurance company who left to lead a competitor, defeating a motion to enforce restrictive covenants. In addition, Erika successfully set aside a six-figure judgment against her client. Erika’s appellate experience includes drafting multiple appellate briefs, including a successful brief before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in 2025. She has regularly appeared in Tennessee General Sessions Court, circuit courts and chancery courts on behalf of companies and individuals.
