Overview

Michael DelRossi is an intellectual property associate in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP, focusing on patent infringement litigation and other intellectual property matters before the U.S. Federal Courts and the International Trade Commission. Given his background, Michael’s practice has largely focused on the life sciences field, including pharmaceuticals and medical devices, and he also has experience in the telecommunications field. Michael has experience in numerous aspects of patent litigation, including preparing for and assisting in depositions and examinations of witnesses at trial, working with technical experts, drafting and responding to pleadings, discovery motions and Markman briefings.

Apart from intellectual property litigation, an active part of Michael’s practice revolves around internal investigations, both public and private. As one public example, Michael served on the team that recently completed the investigation of Stanford University President Marc Tessier-Lavigne on behalf of Stanford’s board regarding allegations of research misconduct.

Michael maintains an active pro bono practice, focusing on the representation of individuals seeking relief from sentencing and/or conviction in death penalty matters.
