Prior to joining Kirkland, Diego was involved in the following matters:
Glencore in its strategic partnership with Kimmeridge Texas Gas (KTG) and Commonwealth LNG to purchase two million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of LNG for 20 years from Commonwealth, as well as equivalent natural gas supply from KTG under a netback agreement at international prices.
Naturgy on a long-term sales and purchase agreement for the purchase of one million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) of LNG from Venture Global for 20 years beginning in 2030.
Representation of a private equity fund in the execution of a petroleum storage agreement with a Mexican public utility.
Advised KKR in its purchase of a minority stake in Sempra Infrastructure Partners for $3.4 billion, providing KKR a share in IEnova’s Mexican diversified power business, including a renewable portfolio, LNG Terminals, and natural gas pipelines in Mexico.
Advised a leading asian energy company in the acquisition of a +500 MW renewable portfolio in Mexico from a European energy developer.
Advised the asset management division of a leading global financial services group on a 50 MW wind farm expansion located in Mexico.
Representation of Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board on the purchase of a 40% stake in Impulsora del Desarrollo y el Empleo en America Latina, S.A.B. de C.V.
Advised a leading financial services group in the corporate restructure of two companies operating infrastructure assets under Mexico’s public private partnership scheme.
