Overview

Mathew Eapen is a partner in the Investment Funds Group of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Mat’s practice focuses on advising private investment funds, particularly venture capital and growth equity funds, on all aspects of their business, including capital raising, structuring, and portfolio investment activities. He also represents private equity sponsors in strategic investments, joint ventures, fund restructurings, and other complex transactions.

Mat was previously a foreign affairs officer at the U.S. Department of State, where he focused on encouraging science and technology entrepreneurship. While in law school, he served as Managing Editor of the Virginia Journal of International Law.
