Darren Fernandez is a corporate partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Darren represents clients on complex transactions and regulatory matters across the digital infrastructure and telecommunications industries. These clients include major data center operators, cloud services providers, fiber companies, internet service providers, media companies, satellite operators, subsea cable operators and tower companies, as well as banks, private equity firms and other entities investing in, or providing financing for, such companies.
Prior to joining the Firm, Darren served as an attorney-advisor at the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC). His experience at the FCC included reviewing mergers and acquisitions of telecommunications companies, adjudicating broadcast license applications and conducting rulemaking proceedings concerning the deployment and funding of rural healthcare broadband infrastructure.
