Overview

Melanie Fineman is a litigation associate in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Prior to joining Kirkland, Melanie clerked for Honorable Sheryl H. Lipman for the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee, and practiced at Venable LLP. Melanie has served and represented clients in a wide range of industries across a broad array of subject matters. She also has experience with matters involving federal agencies and has advised clients on complex, evolving legal issues.

Melanie has over a decade of experience in Washington, D.C. While at Georgetown Law, she externed at the Fair Elections Center, participated in the Election Law Practicum with the Campaign Legal Center and worked as a Law Clerk at the League of Conservation Voters. Before law school, Melanie spent more than six years advancing the goals of advocacy organizations in Washington, D.C., and she translated complicated and nuanced information regarding policy issues to inspire action.
