Overview

William Gaspard, Jr. is a litigation associate in the Firm’s Houston office. William’s practice encompasses commercial litigation, insurance dispute resolution and mass tort defense. He has experience representing companies in multidistrict mass tort litigation in Texas state court arising from industrial incidents, including managing bellwether plaintiff depositions and coordinating witness preparation. He has also represented energy companies in mass litigation involving oil and gas lease disputes.

William regularly advises clients on complex insurance coverage matters, including the analysis of directors and officers tail policies in connection with public company merger transactions and the evaluation of insurance programs in asset carveout transactions. His insurance practice includes counseling on the allocation of pre-closing claims, the transferability of legacy insurance policies, and insurer rights and defense cost obligations. In addition to his litigation and insurance practice, William has experience in procedural and pretrial strategy.

William is also committed to pro bono service. He has represented survivors of sex trafficking in connection with Department of Justice remission proceedings and has advocated for students with disabilities to secure appropriate educational accommodations under federal and state public education mandates.
