Overview

Ariel Giumarelli is a partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and member of the ESG & Impact Practice Group, which advises some of the world's most sophisticated companies and private equity firms on complex and evolving issues related to environmental, social and governance (ESG), human rights and climate-related regulatory requirements, strategic opportunities and reporting frameworks.

Ariel's practice focuses on counseling clients on business and human rights. She has supported clients across a broad range of human rights topics by providing legal analysis, regulatory tracking, risk assessments, due diligence and compliance building. She has advised on these topics across a wide range of industries, including technology, hotel & travel, telecommunications, agriculture, food & beverage, mining, oil & gas, apparel, pharmaceutical, and security & defense. Ariel has counseled clients regarding human rights concerns before the United Nations, the U.S. State Department, the White House, OECD National Contact Points, various European institutions, and the American Bar Association. Ariel also has experience in anticorruption, investigations and regulatory enforcement, corporate governance and capital markets.
