Overview

Brendan helps private equity funds, corporations and business owners navigate the deals that define their futures — from leveraged buyouts and mergers to joint ventures and recapitalizations. Based in Kirkland’s Chicago office, he has led complex transactions across a wide range of industries, with deal sizes ranging from $100 million to more than $3 billion.

His practice centers on the full deal life cycle: structuring and negotiating acquisitions, divestitures, controlling and noncontrolling equity investments, and management incentive arrangements for private equity sponsors and senior leadership teams. He brings both the technical depth and practical judgment that sophisticated transactions demand.

One of the more distinctive aspects of his work is representing parties in strategic transactions involving professional sports franchises — including teams in Major League Baseball and the National Basketball Association — a space where financial complexity meets high stakes and high visibility.

Whether the deal is a flagship buyout or a first-of-its-kind sports transaction, his goal is the same: to be a trusted advisor who gets it done.
