Vino Jayaraman is a litigation partner in the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Vino is an experienced litigator who helps clients navigate their most significant litigation risks from inception through trial, including in product liability and mass torts, unfair competition and related commercial disputes. Drawing from a background in biomedical research and co-authoring several publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals, Vino applies his experience to translate complex issues in science, medicine and engineering into compelling narratives that connect with judges, juries and other key audiences — ensuring that clients’ stories are not only heard, but understood.

Defended major pharmaceutical manufacturer in federal multidistrict litigation and multiple suits brought by state attorneys general related to the marketing and sale of pain medications; helped client secure complete defense victory at trial in litigation brought by California municipalities seeking more than $50 billion in damages, which CVN named Number 1 on "Top 10 Most Impressive Defense Verdicts of 2021" list.
Defended major pharmaceutical manufacturer in two-month bench trial against the State of Oklahoma regarding the marketing and sale of pain medications, which The New York Times called "one of the most complicated and gargantuan legal battles in American History," and achieved full defense victory on appeal.
Defended online entertainment platform in lawsuits brought by state attorneys general alleging misrepresentations about the platform's safety and data security.
Defended insurance company in lawsuit in New York state action against policyholder seeking $410 million in damages following alleged molecular damage to fine art following house fire. Featured in Law.com's Litigator of the Week Runners-Up for helping to secure full defense victory following three-week bench trial.
Defended insurance company in two-week federal jury trial in Brooklyn, NY, against breach-of-contract claims brought by policyholder seeking $60 million in damages for alleged property damage following Hurricane Sandy.
Represented contract drug manufacturing organization in commercial litigation involving misappropriation and tortious interference seeking nearly $100 million in damages; helped client secure favorable settlement.
