Overview

Ian Jelsma is a partner in the Investment Funds Practice Group in the Houston office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Ian represents private fund sponsors and their principals in the formation of private equity funds and other bespoke investment and co-investment vehicles, as well as related sponsor matters, such as succession planning, equity incentive and other structuring considerations, investment management matters, governance, and inbound investments. Ian has handled a broad range of fund matters, from first-time funds to fully-institutional processes for seasoned sponsors. His experience covers multiple industries, including infrastructure, energy, food & beverage, healthcare, technology, industrial manufacturing, retail, and hospitality.
