Overview

William Kimmitt is a litigation partner in the Washington, D.C., office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice focuses principally on complex commercial litigation in federal and state trial courts. William has represented numerous Fortune 500 and private equity clients in a wide range of commercial matters.

William previously served as Counselor to the United States Trade Representative, where he advised the U.S. Trade Representative on trade policy and legal matters. While at USTR, William oversaw implementation of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement and had significant engagement with senior foreign officials, interagency colleagues, congressional staff, and private industry on a broad array of international trade and investment issues.
