Dominic McNeil
Overview
Dominic McNeil is a partner in Kirkland & Ellis LLP (U.S.) in the Debt Finance Practice Group, based in the Hong Kong office of Kirkland & Ellis. He is a registered foreign lawyer in Hong Kong and a solicitor in the courts of England & Wales and New South Wales, Australia.
Dominic has a broad range of experience acting for sponsors, corporates, credit funds and lenders on complex international financing transactions, in particular on cross-border acquisition and leveraged financings, corporate financings, margin lending and asset based financings.
Dominic has also spent time on secondment to the strategic equity solutions team of Citibank in London, and the private credit team of HSBC in Hong Kong.
Prior to joining Kirkland, Dominic worked in the London, Singapore and Hong Kong offices of a leading international law firm.

- Warburg Pincus on the debt financing for its acquisition of Acclime, a leading provider of corporate and business services across Asia Pacific
- TPG-backed Hasfarm Holdings Limited on the debt financing for its acquisition of Lynch Group Holdings Limited (ASX: LGL) by way of a scheme of arrangement
- Wynn Macau (HKSE: 1128) on a US$1 billion upsize to its revolving credit facilities
- Wynn Macau (HKSE: 1128) in its offering of US$1 billion of 6.750% senior notes due 2034
Prior to joining Kirkland & Ellis, Dominic has advised on the following:
- HSBC private credit, Tahan Capital and Orion Capital Asia on a US$75 million mezzanine facility to fund the US$140 million acquisition of the iron oxide pigment business of Venator, a U.S. titanium dioxide pigments and performance additives producer by Cathay Industries, a leading global iron oxide pigment manufacturer
- The lender of a US$30 million bridge loan to a PRC top-tier fitness and gym platform supported by a master fund level guarantee from majority shareholder L Catterton
- The lender of a US$125 million facility provided to Indian mining, oil and gas company Vedanta Resources
- The lender of a US$15 million mezzanine facility to fund the ~US$106 million acquisition of three South East Asian hotels by a Hong Kong family office from a Thai REIT
- ADM Capital on US$11 million management buyout onshore and offshore facilities provided to the shareholders of a five plus star resort in Vietnam
- Private credit lenders of a US$15 million facility to fund the acquisition of Québec-based virtual monitoring solutions developer Interactive Validated Solutions 88 Inc. and Hong Kong-based supply chain management solutions developer Pivot 88 Limited by TradeBeyond (formerly CBX Limited) – a leading provider in supply chain software
- The lender of a US$215 million NAV facility to a PRC private equity firm secured against a portfolio of 17 onshore and offshore investments
- Private credit lenders on a US$60 million margin loan to the majority shareholder in Hong Kong listed Consun Pharmaceutical Group Limited
- A syndicate of lenders on a US$400 million and JPY10.257 billion facility to Adani Ports for the purpose of financing the acquisition of the Port of Haifa, Israel
- A syndicate of credit funds on a US$80 million term facility to a leading airport lounge operator for the purpose of financing capital expenditure and refinancing existing debt
- A syndicate of 15 banks on three margin loan facilities with total commitments of €1.385 billion for Bain Capital, Advent International and Clessidra and secured against shares in Italian payments provider Nexi S.p.A.
- The lender of US$35 million facilities provided to the shareholders of a PRC provider of financial education and training services to refinance existing debt and fund the payment of a special dividend as part of a recapitalisation exercise
- ADM Capital on the restructuring of INR debentures issued by subsidiaries of utilities consultancy Enzen Limited
- A syndicate of lenders on a scheme of arrangement in connection with facilities provided to a Singapore data storage manufacturer formerly owned by KKR
- A private credit lender on the restructuring of AU$1.6b facilities provided to a major Australian private hospital operator
- A syndicate of lenders on an €650 million margin loan to Advent International secured against shares in a Luxembourg parcel locker company
- Cathay Pacific on its HK$7.8 billion liquidity facility provided by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority as part of its COVID-19 support package
- The underwriters on the syndication of Reliance Industries Limited’s and Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited’s aggregate US$2.35 billion and JPY90.597 billion term loan facilities to over 40 banks
- Korea Development Bank on a €77 miliion liquidity facility provided to ICBC Austria Bank GmbH supported by a letter of comfort from the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China
- The lender of a £200 million trade finance facility, master sale agreement and associated call and put option, provided to Tata Steel Europe Limited
- The lender of a US$50 million term and revolving credit facility provided to transportation company Vanguard Logistics Services
- The lenders on a ~£70 million upsize to a margin loan to Brookfield and secured against shares in a British real estate developer
- A syndicate of lenders on an €694 million margin loan to Starwood Capital secured against shares in an Austrian real estate company
- The lender of a ~CHF84 million margin loan to Ares Management secured against shares in a Swiss-German real estate company
- The lenders on amendments to a ~€11 million, ~£42 million, ~HK$11 million, ~JPY6 billion, ~SEK50 million and ~US$39 million margin loan to Starwood Capital and secured against a portfolio of shares
- State Bank of India on a £50 million term facility provided to Tata Steel UK Limited in connection with its blast furnaces in Port Talbot and Teeside, UK
