Overview

Argie Mina is an intellectual property litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. His practice focuses on trade secret, patent, copyright and trademark litigation, and his experience includes jury trials, arguing motions and appeals, and taking and defending depositions. Argie served as an inaugural law clerk to the Honorable Sunshine S. Sykes in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, and he was recognized as a 2025 Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in the field of intellectual property litigation.

Argie has represented both plaintiffs and defendants before federal appellate and district courts, California and Kentucky state court, the Immigration Court, the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), the International Trade Commission (ITC), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC).

Argie’s experience covers a wide range of technologies, including photolithography, video game communication systems, facial recognition software, electromagnetic muscle toning technology, automated chat software, orthopedic surgical devices and implants, continuous glucose monitors, pharmacy management software and networking systems. He has represented pro bono clients in matters regarding immigration rights, special education advocacy and tenants’ rights.

Argie is a proud member of Kirkland & Ellis’ Asian Professional Network and Pride Professional Network. Argie previously served as the co-chair of the firmwide Associates Committee and co-chair of the Los Angeles office’s Associates Committee. Before attending law school, Argie worked as a nuclear chemist and dance choreographer.
