Since joining Kirkland, Muhammad has been involved in the following matters, among others:
Antin Infrastructure Partners S.A.S. in busted deal litigation relating to Antin’s agreement to acquire OpticalTel; secured post-trial victory validating Antin’s termination of merger agreement.
EQT Corporation and certain of its officers and directors, defending a consolidated putative securities class action, related individual securities fraud lawsuits, and shareholder derivative actions, filed in Pennsylvania federal court arising out of EQT’s $6.7 billion acquisition of Rice Energy.
ArcLight Capital Partners, one of its portfolio companies, and certain officers and directors, defending a breach-of-contract suit in Delaware Chancery Court relating to ArcLight’s merger with American Midstream partners.
Fortune 500 pharmaceutical company and its subsidiary, representing in an ICC arbitration alleging breach of a distribution agreement with respect to the sale of a pharmaceutical. Claimant is alleging damages in the ten figures.
Warburg Pincus, in matters involving third-party subpoenas.
A private equity fund in an arbitration alleging breach of contract and fiduciary duties related to a Partner’s termination.
Pro Bono
A Honduran woman who fled an abusive partner and sought asylum in the United States in her petition for review before the Eighth Circuit, securing remand to the BIA after the BIA upheld the Immigration Judge’s denial of her application for asylum, withholding of removal, and protection under the Convention Against Torture.
An Afghani refugee/student in her successful asylum application.
