Counsel for Syngenta in nationwide mass tort suits alleging exposure to herbicide caused neurological injuries.
Served as trial counsel for Yellow Corporation and certain affiliates, successfully defending against claims by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and the International Association of Machinists seeking more than $200 million in WARN Act damages. After trial, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware issued a complete defense verdict. The U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware then upheld that decision on appeal.
Served as trial counsel for Rice Drilling D, LLC in a jury trial in which plaintiffs sought over $60 million in damages for allegedly trespassing on and converting their oil and gas below the surface. Successfully defeated several claims prior to trial with dispositive motions and, after a two-week jury trial before the Chief Judge of the Southern District of Ohio, secured a unanimous jury verdict in the client’s favor.
Represented Ascend Performance Materials Holdings Inc. in an adversary proceeding alleging breach of contract related to the design, engineering and construction of an industrial facility. After extensive discovery, a favorable settlement achieved.
Represented numerous Chapter 11 debtors and creditors in Chapter 11 cases, including Nine Energy Service, Yellow Corporation, Ascend Performance Materials Holdings, Express, Extraction Oil & Gas, Ultra Petroleum, and Westmoreland Coal, resulting in successful reorganizations.
Represented Nine West Holdings, Inc. in a breach of contract claim against a licensee, achieving a summary judgment victory on all claims.
Represented 3M Company in connection with the Combat Arms Earplugs multidistrict litigation—the largest MDL is U.S. history, serving as a member of the trial team for several Bellwether trials, including one where she was trial counsel.
Partnered with the National Immigrant Justice Center and a team of Kirkland & Ellis colleagues and won a four-week trial in favor of a class of immigrant children enforcing federal law requiring ICE to consider placing them in settings less restrictive than adult detention.
