Prior to joining Kirkland, Jean was involved in the following matters:
Representing Illumina before the General Court of the European Union in its appeal against the European Commission decision prohibiting Illumina’s acquisition of GRAIL.
Representing Illumina before the EU Courts in cost recovery proceedings following its successful challenge to the European Commission’s decision to assert jurisdiction over Illumina’s acquisition of GRAIL under Article 22 of the EU Merger Regulation.
Advising Booking Holdings in connection with its designation as a gatekeeper under the Digital Markets Act and on compliance with the Act’s requirements.
Representing Auchan before the European Commission and the French Competition Authority in obtaining clearance for Auchan’s acquisition of 98 food retail stores from Casino in France.
Advising Veolia in connection with its landmark acquisition of Suez involving extensive merger control and regulatory review across multiple jurisdictions.
