Overview

Rashi Punia is an intellectual property associate in the Bay Area office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Her practice focuses on patent and trade secret litigation in federal courts and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. She has represented clients in complex matters involving a broad range of technologies, including pharmaceuticals, multiomics and spatial biology, medical devices, connected television advertising, information and communications technology, telecommunications and agricultural biotechnology.

Rashi has experience across various stages of litigation, including pre-suit investigation and evaluation, dispositive and other motion practice, management of fact and expert discovery, taking and defending depositions, claim construction, summary judgment, pretrial briefing and trial preparation. She also has transactional experience advising clients on the intellectual property aspects of strategic transactions, including patent portfolio diligence, prior-art and chain-of-title analysis, and drafting and negotiation of patent, trademark and technology-transfer agreements.

Before joining Kirkland, Rashi practiced at an international law firm in the United States and at a leading intellectual property firm in India. Her experience in both jurisdictions provides her with a practical perspective on intellectual property disputes and transactions involving cross-border considerations across patents, trademarks and copyrights.

Rashi also maintains an active pro bono practice.
