Taha Qureshi
Overview
Taha Qureshi is a corporate energy and infrastructure partner in the Houston office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Taha’s practice focuses on the development, construction and operation of complex energy and infrastructure projects, with particular experience in power, digital infrastructure, renewable energy and energy transition projects. He advises sponsors, developers, investors and other market participants on the full range of commercial arrangements required to develop and operate major projects, including engineering, procurement and construction agreements, operation and maintenance agreements, equipment supply and long-term service agreements, power purchase and other offtake arrangements, fuel and feedstock supply agreements and strategic joint ventures.
Taha has significant experience advising on power solutions for data centers and other digital infrastructure, including behind-the-meter generation, renewable power procurement, gas-fired generation, energy storage and critical equipment supply. His experience also spans utility-scale solar and wind projects, battery storage, LNG, renewable natural gas, sustainable aviation fuel, hydrogen, ammonia and other industrial and infrastructure assets. He has advised clients on both domestic and cross-border projects and transactions throughout North America and the Middle East.
Taha has previously practiced in New York, Toronto and Abu Dhabi and is admitted to practice in Texas, New York and Ontario.

Prior to joining Kirkland, Taha was involved in the following matters:
Digital Infrastructure and Power
- A sovereign investor in connection with a multibillion-dollar joint venture with an infrastructure developer for the development of digital infrastructure and related power projects in the United States, including renewable power solutions supporting hyperscale data-center operations.
- A major U.S. energy company in connection with a joint venture to develop gas-fired power generation facilities supporting data-center operations, including gas turbine procurement, long-term service, fuel supply, construction and power offtake arrangements.
- A global data-center developer in connection with the negotiation of critical equipment, hardware, component supply and service agreements for large-scale data-center developments across multiple U.S. jurisdictions, including arrangements relating to cooling systems, switchgear, transformers, battery systems and modular infrastructure.
- Developers and energy sponsors in connection with long-term power purchase and other power-supply arrangements supporting hyperscale data-center operations, including arrangements addressing reliability requirements, curtailment risk, credit support, interconnection capacity and renewable integration.
Project Development, Construction and Procurement
- Renewable-energy developers, infrastructure investors, project sponsors and contractors in connection with more than 100 bespoke EPC and other construction agreements for utility-scale solar, battery storage, data-center, water, hydrogen and industrial infrastructure projects in the United States and the Middle East.
- Project sponsors, developers and contractors in connection with EPC, balance-of-plant, equipment supply, operation and maintenance and long-term service arrangements, including the negotiation of performance guarantees, delay and performance liquidated damages, warranty regimes, change-order procedures and project-interface risk.
- Infrastructure investors and development platforms in connection with the creation and implementation of standardized project-document suites covering EPC, balance-of-plant, equipment procurement, operation and maintenance and long-term service arrangements across portfolios of infrastructure assets.
Renewable Energy and Storage
- An infrastructure investment firm and its renewable-energy development platform in connection with the development of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects across multiple U.S. jurisdictions representing approximately 2 GW of aggregate capacity, including EPC, O&M, solar-module, inverter and battery-supply arrangements.
- A battery-storage developer in connection with the development of approximately 650 MW of utility-scale battery energy storage projects in the United States, including capacity-sales, energy-management, inverter-supply and construction arrangements.
- A sovereign power-procurement entity in connection with the competitive procurement and development of utility-scale solar and wind projects representing more than 5 GW of aggregate generation capacity, including power purchase, interconnection, project-development, site, EPC and O&M arrangements.
- Renewable-energy developers, independent power producers, utilities and corporate offtakers in connection with physical and virtual power purchase agreements for utility-scale solar, wind, solar-plus-storage and hybrid renewable-energy projects.
- A leading global renewable-energy company in connection with its acquisition of a significant minority interest in a portfolio of solar and wind projects representing approximately 1.5 GW of aggregate generation capacity.
