Overview

Brian Raphel is a partner in the Philadelphia office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. He is an experienced trial lawyer who has played essential roles, both in front of juries and behind the scenes, in a large number of cases that resulted in successful defense verdicts in some of the most difficult jurisdictions in the country. Recently, Brian took the lead on revising national litigation strategy for a cosmetics company and, in that capacity, he led large teams to prepare cases for trial, provided trial training to other teams, and efficiently managed massive e-discovery efforts across multiple jurisdictions. Brian takes great pride in translating extensive discovery records into consistent and compelling narratives. Clients have praised Brian for his attention to detail, responsiveness and zealous advocacy.

Brian focuses primarily on products liability and mass tort trials, but he also has experience trying securities litigation, bankruptcy proceedings, contractual disputes and criminal matters. He also maintains an active pro bono practice in which he has defended the right to marry, religious freedom and prisoners’ rights.
