Overview

Ryan Raybould is a litigation partner based in Washington, D.C., and Dallas, and a member of the Firm’s Government, Regulatory & Internal Investigations Practice Group. Ryan represents corporations, boards of directors and executives involved in complex multijurisdictional disputes and high-stakes investigations. Ryan also handles matters involving national security, cybersecurity, workplace compliance and high-profile controversies tied to current events and ongoing political disputes.

Ryan joined Kirkland after serving as Chief Counsel to former Assistant Majority Leader and U.S. Senator John Cornyn. As Chief Counsel to Senator Cornyn, Ryan helped draft and negotiate numerous pieces of legislation that became law on national security, drug diversion control, transparency and government accountability, operation of the federal courts, cybersecurity, international narcotics control and mental health access. Ryan also spearheaded on the Judiciary Committee oversight of government agencies, conducted numerous investigations and advised Senator Cornyn on the Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control.

Prior to serving as Senator Cornyn’s Chief Counsel, Ryan was a federal prosecutor with the Department of Justice for almost seven years, including as Deputy Chief of the White Collar and Public Corruption Unit in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas. As a federal prosecutor, Ryan investigated and tried cases involving public corruption, tax fraud, securities fraud, cybercrime, national security, violent crime, money laundering and other white-collar crimes. Ryan tried more than twenty bench and jury trials to verdict in federal courts across the country.
