Overview

Andrew Reilly is a partner in the Investment Funds Practice Group in the London office of Kirkland & Ellis International LLP. Andrew is a key member of the GP strategic transaction practice in Europe.

Andrew’s practice focuses primarily on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, structured equity transactions, minority interest sales and other transactions involving public and private investment management firms, broker-dealers and related business. In addition, his practice includes the structuring and negotiation of a wide range of secondary transactions.

Andrew has spent time on secondment at Coller Capital Partners, a leading international secondaries firm.

Prior to joining Kirkland, Andrew was involved in the following representative matters:

  • Chorus Aviation Inc. on the auction sale of Falko Regional Aircraft Limited, an aviation asset manager, together with Chorus’ equity interests in certain aircraft investment funds managed by Falko and its affiliates, to investment funds managed by HPS Investment Partners, LLC, in a transaction valued at $1.9 billion
  • Asset manager, SKY Leasing, a portfolio company of M&G, on the auction sale of its entire portfolio of assets in its first fund to Dubai Aerospace Enterprise for an enterprise value of approx. $2 billion
  • SMBC Aviation Capital Limited on its acquisition of Goshawk Management Limited, an aviation asset manager, from NWS Holdings Limited and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Limited for an enterprise value of $6.7 billion
  • A consortium led by Apollo Global Management Inc. in connection with the long-term strategic investment entered into with The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company for an underlying real estate portfolio valued at $5.5 billion
  • Fortress Investment Group LLC and certain of its managed funds on the auction sale to Chorus Aviation Inc. of Falko Regional Aircraft Limited an aircraft leasing asset manager and servicer with an enterprise value of approximately $855 million. Brookfield made an equity investment of US$374 million in Chorus in connection with the transaction
  • PK Airfinance, a leading aviation lending platform backed by Apollo Global Management Inc., on its agreement to acquire the majority of an approximately $920 million portfolio of secured aviation loans from Standard Chartered, with Apollo affiliates agreeing to purchase the balance of the portfolio
  • Atlantic Park on its structured equity investment in the acquisition by Archroma, a portfolio company of SK Capital on its acquisition of the textiles business of Huntsman
  • Warburg Pincus as lead investor on the €1.5 billion consortium acquisition of a significant minority stake in Airtel Africa, a telecommunications and mobile payment services group
  • Carpenters Workshop Galleries on a minority growth investment by Montefiore
  • KKR on its growth investment in an automobile financial services company
  • TPG Capital on numerous auction sale processes
  • TPG Growth and TPG’s The Rise Fund on numerous minority investments
