Overview

Camil Sanchez-Palumbo is a litigation associate in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Her practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and bet-the-company cases, including contract, antitrust, False Claims Act, fiduciary breach, non-compete, products liability, multidistrict litigation and class action disputes.

Camil represents a diverse range of clients, including pharmaceutical companies, sports teams and owners, private equity firms and producers in the protein industry. Earlier this year, Camil helped Allergan (AbbVie) defeat a massive False Claims Act case at summary judgment, where the relator alleged a nationwide, 15-year scheme to defraud the government through alleged kickbacks and off-label promotion. Camil’s representative matters also include obtaining a complete defense verdict for Gilead Sciences in a high-stakes jury trial involving billions of dollars in antitrust claims stemming from an alleged “pay-for-delay” scheme involving two HIV drugs.

Camil actively participates in Firm committees, diversity initiatives and recruiting efforts. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Firm’s Associates Committee for the Chicago office, and also serves as Co-Chair of the Unidos Affinity Group for the Chicago office.

Additionally, Camil maintains a robust pro bono practice, representing clients in various immigration matters and, most recently, securing a non-English-speaking couple’s successful adoption of their grandson.
