Capital Markets Claims

• Acting for an ad hoc committee of certain holders of US$450 million 6% guaranteed bonds issued and guaranteed by subsidiaries of Tsinghua Unigroup Co., Ltd. with the benefit of keepwell deeds and a deed of equity interest purchase undertaking provided by the PRC company in connection with the onshore restructuring of the PRC company and offshore enforcement actions, and obtaining landmark US$483 million judgment on the keepwell deed in Hong Kong High Court action HCA 1269 of 2021
• Acting for an ad hoc committee of certain holders of guaranteed USD senior notes issued by a subsidiary of China Energy Reserve and Chemicals Group Company Limited in claims in the Hong Kong High Court action HCA 146 of 2020 and Court of Appeal action CACV 346 of 2022, including obtaining a summary judgment against the issuer and opposing a Garnishee order over a specific sum, and in related onshore enforcement actions
• Advising an ad hoc committee of holders of the US$200 million 7.25% guaranteed senior notes due 2020 issued by Reward International Investment Limited and guaranteed by Reward (HK) International Co., Ltd. and Reward Science & Technology Industry Group Co., Ltd. in connection with formulation and implementation of enforcement strategies
• Advising a committee of bondholders on a default on US$300 million bonds issued by an offshore entity of a PRC property developer, and formulating and implementing enforcement strategies

Professional Negligence Claims

• Defending an international accounting firm in professional negligence claims in the Hong Kong High Court
• Defending an international law firm in a professional negligence claim in the Hong Kong High Court, securing the striking out of over 97% of the dollar value of the claim and the withdrawal of the balance

Other Insolvency and Enforcement Proceedings

• Representing a high-net-worth individual in opposing a bankruptcy order and charging order in the Hong Kong High Court
• Representing a Hong Kong garment company in settling supplier claims following multiple defaults

Pro Bono Claims

• Representing a family seeking asylum in Hong Kong on a pro bono basis in an appeal before the Torture Claims Appeal Board
