Robert Smith is a partner in the Investment Funds Practice Group in the Salt Lake City office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and a member of the Firm’s industry-leading Strategic GP Advisory Practice Group. Robert’s practice focuses on asset management M&A, GP stake sales and other strategic transactions involving private equity, private credit and real estate managers.
Robert brings to his practice more than a decade of experience leading complex M&A transactions. Prior to joining Kirkland, Robert led the M&A practice of a premier Los Angeles restructuring firm, where he represented private credit funds, financial sponsors and strategic acquirers in sophisticated transactions across the capital structure in special situations.
