Overview

Michael Snow is a corporate partner in the Chicago office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP. Michael represents fund sponsors in connection with the formation and operation of investment funds, including buyout funds, debt funds, growth equity funds, venture capital funds, hedge funds and other investment vehicles. These funds range from first-time funds to established funds in excess of $4 billion. Michael also represents fund sponsors in connection with internal firm management and succession-planning matters and has represented several fund sponsors in connection with the sale of minority interests in their firm. Michael's practice also includes secondary transactions and co-investment arrangements, as well as representing certain limited partners in connection with private investment funds, including as seed sponsors of emerging managers.

Before focusing on investment funds, Michael represented private equity firms and their portfolio companies in complex business transactions, including leveraged buyouts of private and public companies, growth equity investments, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, equity financings, incentive plans, corporate restructurings, recapitalizations, and in related corporate governance, executive compensation and general corporate matters. Representative acquisitions and divestitures have ranged in size from several million dollars to in excess of $6 billion.
