Since joining Kirkland, Dan has been involved in the following matters:

• Advised the Alkegen Group on UK and non-US aspects of the group’s Chapter 11 cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas;
• Advising the Joint Administrators of Market Financial Solutions Limited;
• Advised the Ardagh Group on its $6 billion debt and equity restructuring;
• Advised the ad hoc group of bondholders on the fully consensual recapitalisation of Petra Diamonds;
• Advised Northvolt AB and eight of its affiliates in their Chapter 11 cases filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas;
• Advised the Consolis group of companies on their full debt and equity recapitalization;
• Advised a strategic investor in relation to their participation in a $1.25 billion new money financing of Vedanta Resources;
• Advised the ad hoc committee of jumbo and convertible lenders to Spanish steel manufacturing company Celsa in the first use of the Spanish Restructuring Plan procedure;
• Advised the Wilko Retail Group on all aspects of its proposed lease restructuring, including structuring a Company Voluntary Arrangement;
• Advised Ardian-owned German lighting fixtured company SLV on the A&E of its RCF and term loan;
• Advised Brookfield on the full debt and equity recapitalization of the Schoeller Allibert group of companies;
• Advised the Avaya group of companies, a multinational technology company, on UK and non-US aspects of the group’s Chapter 11;
• Advised on UK aspects of STX Filmworks, Inc., a film, television, and digital media production company, stock sale to an affiliate of The Najafi Companies;
• Advised Smile Telecoms group in relation to its proposed restructuring to be implemented by way of a UK Restructuring Plan; 
• Advised the National Car Parks group in relation to all aspects of its proposed restructuring of its leasehold estate including structuring and proposing a Restructuring Plan under Part 26A Companies Act 2006;
• Advised the Euro Garages Group (EG Group) in relation to its proposal to acquire the Caffé Nero group, subject to a Company Voluntary Arrangement;
• Advised the Ann Summers group, a UK retailer, in relation to the restructuring of its UK leasehold obligations through a CVA;
• Advised the Selecta group, Europe’s leading route-based unattended self-service retailer, in relation to its successful recapitalisation of its senior secured notes, in aggregate principal amount of €1.24 billion plus CHF 250 million through an English scheme of arrangement; and
• Advised the PizzaExpress group on the new money aspects of its successful restructuring via a restructuring plan and, in parallel, a company voluntary arrangement.  

Prior to joining Kirkland, Dan worked on the following matters:

• Advised the global IT services business, Getronics, on the group’s full restructuring and new financing and sale to minority shareholder GSH Private Capital;
• Advised the joint administrators of Elite Insurance Company Limited on its administration;
• Advised Welcome Finance on its entry into a creditors’ voluntary liquidation and, from their appointment, certain of the joint liquidators on the liquidation of the Welcome Finance business;
• Advised the liquidator and joint special managers of the Carillion group on the compulsory liquidation of the group’s business;
• Advised the UK-wide infrastructure support service provider, Amey, on its settlement and exit from the Birmingham road project and the refinancing of a number of the group’s finance lines;
• Advised a majority convertible noteholder, shareholder and director of a distressed UAE based online retailer on the structuring and implementation of its prospective rescue plan which included advice with respect to directors’ duties; and
• Advised a syndicate of lenders on the funding of the US$1.2 billion financing of Key Safety Systems’ global acquisition of substantially all of the Takata group and its assets.
