Since joining Kirkland, Su Yi’s representative matters have included:
Advising an ad hoc group of noteholders on the successful restructuring of approximately US$17.7 billion offshore liabilities of Country Garden Holdings Company Limited (HKEX: 2007), a leading PRC property developer. This is one of Asia’s most significant and largest restructurings of Chinese property developers in the current sector-wide crisis and one of the largest schemes of arrangement by value ever sanctioned by the Hong Kong Court to date. This transaction was named “Deals of the Year 2024” by China Business Law Journal.
Prior to joining Kirkland, Su Yi’s representative matters included:
Advising a Hong Kong-listed real estate company with respect to its holistic restructuring of approximately US$7 billion in offshore liabilities through parallel schemes of arrangement in Hong Kong and the Cayman Islands.
Advising an ad-hoc group of noteholders in relation to Times China Holdings Limited’s restructuring of offshore public notes.
Advising a Hong Kong-listed real estate group on its holistic restructuring of approximately US$1.7 billion of offshore liabilities.
Advising a syndicate of lenders on the consensual restructuring of an approximately US$200 million facility.
Advising a lender on the provision of conditional funding to an Indonesian real estate group in respect of a Singapore pre-packaged scheme of arrangement.
