Chambers' comments:
National Ranking: 2
The Firm: Its traditional private equity and bankruptcy strengths provide a sturdy foundation for its structured finance practice, especially in its representation of issuers. Market sources praise its credentials for auto and equipment lease work. The team of about seven partners - fortified by the arrival of Todd Miller from Mayer Brown Rowe & Maw - has undertaken considerable work for GMAC, including its public offerings of securities backed by retail auto loans. Other asset-related transactions include distressed, commercial and industrial debt. Also on offer is a budding CDO practice.
The Lawyers: Tending to his long-standing relationships with issuers, Kenneth Morrison heads the firm's asset finance and securitization practice. He is considered "at the top of the mountain," according to market sources.
The Clients: Its clientele includes issuers, underwriters, principal finance groups and conduit sponsors.
