Chambers' comments:
District of Columbia Ranking: 5
The Firm: According to clients, this sizable international firm has quickly developed a "strong energy background." The oil and gas team is especially notable for its recent high-profile work on behalf of premier client, BP. For example, it is lead counsel for the Destin pipeline, BP's main pipeline in the Gulf of Mexico. Over the past four years, the firm has worked on $2.5 billion worth of divestitures of pipelines and refineries for BP. Among these are the $1.1 billion disposal of the Alliance refinery in Louisiana, and the $135 million sale of the Cushing-Chicago pipeline system to Enbridge.
The Lawyers: Neil Levy and Mitch Hertz are the firm's leading gas partners.
The Clients: Clients include BP, CornerStone Propane and DP&L.
