Chambers' comments:

Nationwide Ranking: Tier 3

This national powerhouse represents a range of clients, from the world's largest pharmaceutical groups to biotech companies in the development stage, in addition to private equity and venture capital investors. It is best known for its impressive litigation work, where highlights include acting for Amgen on securing summary judgment of noninfringement in a suit against ARIAD Pharmaceuticals. The transactional side of the practice is also widely commended. Clients are impressed with the team for "reaching out and informing us on both the current issues and anything coming around the corner." Peter Armenio has an "impressive work ethic and track record of winning." He represented medical device maker Boston Scientific in a WIPO arbitration. Both he and Gerald Flattmann are based in the firm's New York office, but work closely with colleagues across the state in contentious matters. Flattmann played a pivotal role in the Amgen case and has "outstanding knowledge" of the sector.
