In Chambers' 2010 review of legal talent in the area of Investment Funds, our Firm is listed among the best in the UK.

Chambers' comments:

Investment Funds: Private Equity
UK-wide Ranking: Tier 2

The Firm: The London office of this esteemed global firm has been able to take advantage of the increase in pan-European fund activity. Indicating this, it advised Candover on the formation of its latest European private equity fund with target commitments of EUR5 billion. In January 2009, Justin Dolling relocated to the Hong Kong office but this has not affected the firm's domestic offering. The group acts for major international investors and a significant number of secondary buyers.

Sources Say: "It has a terrific combination of creative problem solving, high-quality execution and exceptional attention to detail." "Widely respected as one of the best practices around."

Key Individuals: Client favourite Mark Mifsud was engaged on this matter and received vast praise for his "impressively expedient approach to organising multifaceted negotiations." He often works closely with Kate Downey, who debuts in the rankings. She advised Candover and is noted for her "ability to assimilate the most precise and complex information with ease." Richard Watkins received recognition for his ongoing representation of key clients. He recently conducted a significant private equity raising for CVC which attracted investments across the world at a very challenging time. Junior talent is not in short supply and sources highlighted Jenny Kapusniak and Kate Simpson as key practitioners for secondary transactions. Between them they have acted for clients including CVC and Bank of Scotland on significant fund-raisings.
