Chambers' comments:

USA Ranking: Tier 1

The amazing commitment this firm has made to its national IP litigation practice is very much in evidence. The group is centered in New York, and its fastest growth is in California, where a new Palo Alto office joins its San Francisco and Los Angeles operations. Clients point out that "the depth and the quality of work really run from the very top all the way down," making it a key destination for high-stakes litigation and trial work. The team successfully acted for Limelight Networks against a patent infringement claim made by Akamai Technologies, and secured a summary judgment victory for Honeywell International in a patent infringement case in federal court in Delaware against a Belgian corporation. Highly instrumental in building the practice, John Desmarais is "one of the superstars of IP litigation," sources agree. In 2010 he left the partnership to become of counsel to the firm. Co-head of the IP group Robert Krupka is one of the country's most influential trial lawyers, and is revered as a "national treasure." With over 60 trials and appeals under his belt, Krupka has extensive experience of contentious IP matters, particularly in the technology sector, and is able to "watch the detail while still maintaining a focus on the big picture."
